About our Under the Radar™ (UTR) Workshops:

WHAT ARE THEY?
The purpose of UTR workshops is to gather a group of peers to explore the unique challenges and opportunities R&D leaders face in developing their organizations.

WHY ARE THEY IMPORTANT?
The research scientist’s elite training and extensive experience is one of the most valuable assets to an organization. Directing an R&D lab effectively demands knowledge and practices unique to the scientist population. Good scientists, like good leaders know the power of asking the right questions. UTR workshops will advance your skills in asking the right questions while you work with your peers to resolve practical business dilemmas.

HOW DO THEY WORK?
UTR workshops provide a balance of guided, structured discussion and open dialogue. You’ll leave with new acquaintances in other companies and good strategies and tactics for your efforts to lead in your organization.

SFB Associates lead UTR workshops in cities across the country. Many senior scientists have gained value from UTR participation including R&D leaders from Dupont, ExxonMobil, General Mills, Intel, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Medtronic, Merck, NASA, Panasonic, Philips, Sarnoff, Siemens, and Toyota.

The Under the Radar™ series continues with – “Failing to Learn and Learning to Fail – Truth and Consequences in R&D”

You have a vision, you have put together the right team, you have the technical know-how and yet even the best and brightest encounter failure.  The cost is high if you don't learn from your failures - innovation ceases to advance and sustainable high performance cannot be obtained.
